Accessibility statement
How accessible this website is, what we know is not working, and how to tell us about a problem we have missed.
Our commitment
This website is run by the Commonwealth Office of Digital Services. We hold every Commonwealth public service to the accessibility requirements we publish, and this site is not exempt from them.
We want as many people as possible to be able to use this website. That means you should be able to change colours and contrast, zoom to 400% without content breaking, navigate the whole site with a keyboard or speech input, and have it read aloud by a screen reader.
How accessible this website is
This website is compliant with WCAG 2.2 to level AA, with the exceptions listed below. Compliance is a floor rather than a finish line — we test with people using assistive technology as well as against the criteria.
What we know is not working
We publish outstanding problems rather than waiting until they are fixed. A statement that lists nothing is usually a statement nobody has tested against.
- The service status page's incident timeline announces new entries as a list rather than as an update. We are changing this by 30 September 2026.
- Some publication reference numbers are read out character by character by certain screen readers. We are reviewing how they are marked up.
- The site has not yet been tested with switch access at mobile widths. That testing is scheduled for October 2026.
How this website was tested
The site was last tested in full on 14 July 2026 by the Office's accessibility team, using automated checks in the build pipeline, manual keyboard-only testing of every journey, and screen reader testing across two screen reader and browser pairs.
We also test at 400% zoom, with text spacing overrides applied, and with animation disabled through the operating system's reduced-motion setting.
Reporting a problem
If you find a problem that is not listed above, or you need information on this website in a different format, email accessibility@digital.commonwealth.example or call 0300 456 1188.
Tell us the address of the page, what you were trying to do, and what went wrong. We aim to reply within 5 working days and we add confirmed problems to the list above rather than closing them quietly.
