What this website collects

This website is a published information site. It does not ask you to sign in, it does not use advertising or analytics cookies, and it does not build a profile of you.

Where you use a service that needs to know who you are, that service publishes its own privacy notice covering the information it collects. This notice covers this website only.

  • Search terms you type into the site search, which are processed to return results and are not stored against you
  • Standard web server logs, including the address of the page requested and the time of the request

Why we collect it

Server logs let us keep the site available and investigate faults and abuse. They are the minimum record needed to run a public website.

Search terms are processed only to produce the results on the page you are looking at.

How long it is kept

Server logs are kept for 90 days and then deleted, in line with the Commonwealth records retention schedule.

Search terms are not written to a database at all.

Your rights

You have the right to ask what information the Office holds about you, to have inaccurate information corrected, and in some circumstances to have information erased.

To make a request, email dataprotection@digital.commonwealth.example. We reply within 20 working days, as required by law.

About this notice

The Commonwealth Office of Digital Services is a fictional organisation and this website is a HubZero Blueprint demonstration. This notice describes what a real version of this site would do; the demonstration itself collects nothing.
